The Building was built in 1922 by M.G. and Simon Michael to replace their original building which burnt at the same location on Jan. 25, 1921.  The building housed the Michael Brothers Wholesale and retail Dry Goods Store. The building and was designed by Neel Reid, Atlanta’s most famous architect.  The Sons of M G Michael operated their business until 1953 at which time he leased property to Davison-Paxton Company (Macy’s). In 1981 Macy’s moved to the newly built Georgia Square Mall and at that time the Michael family sold the building.  The building was renamed Park Plaza and was converted to a multi-use building.

Located in vibrant downtown Athens, the Michael Brothers Building offers quality retail spaces and office spaces to companies who would like to be in the center of a thriving community. The building is located in the middle of restaurants and  retailers and is only one block from UGA, the Classic Center, the Clarke County Court House and City Hall.

The fourth and fifth floors of the Michael Brothers Building house the Park Plaza Executive Offices.  This unique office environment allows businesses of all sizes to have the amenities of a large office without the expense. Each office includes a shared receptionist, conference room and break area.  Please contact us for availability.
